Hey, I'm Swagata

I grew up in Delhi, India, and moved to the US for a Master's at Carnegie Mellon, where I focused on data science and AI. Since then I've spent 7+ years building data and AI products across healthcare, retail and enterprise software, including leading AI initiatives as a Principal Data Scientist and earning a USPTO patent along the way.

I'm an NLP researcher at heart. I publish papers and book chapters and speak at conferences like ODSC, mostly on how to make language models work in the real world, from LLMOps to responsible AI.

As chapter lead for Women in Data in San Francisco, I mentor and host events for women building careers in data and AI. On @the.ai.gal I break down AI trends, tools and ideas so anyone can keep up.
